Newton 25km/12km Challenge Kuala Lumpur 26sept2010

The inaugural Newton 25km/12km Challenge attracted thousands including many triathletes and foreigners.Runners started to pour in as early as 5.00am for the 25km run which was scheduled at 6.30am and the shorter 12km race at 7.00am.

This was the second largest participation from KPAC since SCKLM2010.More than 30 of our members competed in all categories.Several committee members and some office holders were there too.Hanson Quek, our vice president,Ng Thean Chor-secretary and his assistant Seah Leong San were all took part in the 25km challenge.

Morning was humid and hot.The route for both distances were very challenging with never ending hills and slopes awaited the runners. It reminded many of the Larian Penembak in Meru held early this year. The gruelling race saw the ambulance busy ferrying those who were unable to complete the run.

Eventhough there were many drink stations but it was not adequate. It was disappointed for those slower participants.Besides coming back without medals, the isotonic drinks station too close earlier.

Some of our runners made it to the podium.Jasni,Casey,Say Heong, newly joined Moey Wooi San and Alam Shah were among those performed splendidly, not forgetting our member from Kuantan,Tan Wah Sing who grabbed the second spot in the 25km senior veteran category.
