What a day at the KPAC Breakfast Run

It was a quiet morning at Padang Sultan Sulaiman and it was only 6.00 am.There were few cars seen at the carpark and l saw our president,Mr Wong Soon Pin, busy chatting with some runners who were eagerly to start the 20 km run-actually it was a 21 km route-a new route discovered by the president.

The run attracted some serious runners who are preparing themselves for the GE20/30 next Sunday at Tasik Perdana.Naresh Kumar and Murali were there, the KPAC favourite runner,Dhan Bahadur was there too.Their appearance dominated the run this morning. Then, the president who himself will lead the run gave some brief instructions on safety and the water point during the run.Off they go at 6.15 am.

Meanwhile Mr Lum Kiok Ming, the KPAC vice president and l were busy preparing the food stall.By then the 10k runners were seen appearing out of nowhere, one by one,and soon the leader, Encik Zainuddin arrived. As usual he starts with the warm up session before the run at 7.00 am.There was a slight drizzle but it did not dampen the spirit of the runners.

There were many participants for the shorter run,the 6 km,senior KPAC members, members of public and school children were seen enjoying the run, headed by our vice president.

By 8.00 am, the 20km fast runners were already back to the Padang. There was a strong challenge between these runners and Naresh Kumar emerged victorious with a time of 1 hr 39 min 30 sec, followed closely by Dhan Bahadur and Murali. Our president was just a distance behind.

The overall turnouts were very encouraging. All participants including visitors to the Padang were treated to a light breakfast and l personally estimated there were more than 100 attended to this event.Thank you very much for your attendance and hopefully all of you will give us the same supports in the future.
